Warranty providers, offering guarantees and insurance for new homes, have announced revised technical guidance for their acceptance of roof cassette systems.
All roof cassette systems, used in new residential properties, will now need to have independent third-party technical approval assessment by an approved body such as the BBA. The BBA’s Agrément certification can demonstrate that a product meets the stringent performance requirements of the warranty providers.
A transitional period will be allowed to give manufacturers the opportunity to ensure their products conform. Providing there is a contract in place with an approved body, like the BBA, who can provide a statement of intent, continued use will be allowed. The final assessment needs to be in place by 31st December 2024.
