Important Notice Regarding Amended Building Regulation in Scotland
In line with the new Technical Handbooks supporting The Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (as amended), our Certificates which relate to external walls of a building are being reviewed.
With some exceptions, those that do not achieve at least a Classification of A2 to BS EN 13501-1 will no longer be eligible for use in high rise buildings with a floor over 11m above ground in Scotland as of 1st October 2019.
The previously accepted national Standard Classification method based on a combination of BS 476-6 and BS 476-7 will no longer be accepted as a means of demonstrating compliance in Scotland.
Affected Certificate(s) will be updated as soon as possible but for now users of a BBA Certificate should read it in conjunction with this statement and the contents of the Technical Handbooks which take precedence over the existing wording of the Certificate.
Details of the changes and exceptions can be found here.
