UKTAs (United Kingdom Technical Assessments), will replace ETAs (United Kingdom) for any applicable products that are or will be placed on the Great British market.
UKTAs are voluntary assessments, however, UKTAs will be an important way to achieve the industry expected UKCA Marking. This can be especially important where ETAs (as a route to CE Marking) are accepted as industry norms for certain product types.
Building Regulations and guidance have been amended across the UK several times during 2022, mainly covering fire safety, energy economy and ventilation.
BBA Certificates are to be updated to allow for these new requirements, but users should be aware that this will take some time and that, in the meantime, the Regulations quoted and the associated comments may not be valid. This does not affect the performance characteristics quoted in Certificates and potential users should ensure that these parameters enable a product to satisfy the requirements of the current Regulations.
