Working and growing together as a team is something we all feel strongly about, at the BBA. And working together for the good of those we serve and work alongside in our community, even more so.
We are proud of our staff’s phenomenal fundraising efforts this year.
At the start of 2022, BBA staff nominated three charities for us to raise funds for throughout the year.
This meant almost every charity initiative we had gave us an opportunity to put money into a pot which we could then split three ways ahead of Christmas.
Our nominated charities all have ties to the industry we serve, and we are so pleased to share the donations with the following charities: CRASH, Lighthouse Club and Rewilding Britain.
What we did
Two of our Technical Project Co-ordinators made a massive contribution to our fundraising efforts when, in May, they completed their own version of the three peaks challenge. Sam Winfield and Joe Woodhouse braved the changeable climate and conditions to make a difference to the local environment by litter picking and rewilding areas as they went along their expedition. Their incredible work alone raised £1510.
As we turned to the summer months, we moved BBA’s head office across Watford to Croxley Park. We couldn’t take all the fixtures and fittings with us, so we invited staff to take part in a closed-bidding process to get their hands on everything from sofas to computer monitors as well as refurbished laptops. All the money raised was allocated to the charity pot, which came in at £980.
Then, in the autumn, we committed to topping up the fund with £1 for each reply to two surveys we ran with our clients – this raised a total of £155.
And in December we ran our annual quiz with all staff on national Christmas jumper day, with those who took part or donned festive jumpers for the day encouraged to donate to the charity fund. We have raised £30 so far and continue to accept donations.
That’s a total of £2,675 that we will split three ways.
And, there’s more!
Alongside our main pot for the year, we also ran two staff-led contributions which saw us raise over £200 for charity.
In September, we took part in the MacMillan coffee morning initiative where staff made cakes and sold them at our offices.
And thanks to our move to Croxley, we have also benefitted from being in close proximity to wildlife, with a nearby pond housing several large fish. BBA’s Luke Adams has generously brought in fish food which staff can buy, with the money going straight to CRASH.
