Energy Efficiency Works, also known as Refrofit, are high on the agenda as the new government has shifted the narrative towards clean energy and household energy bills continue to impact millions.

Upgrading the UK’s housing stock to make it more energy efficient is a major undertaking and too often we hear of homeowners receiving poor quality service from installers. The BBA, through its partnership with TrustMark, is proud to play its part working to improve the safety and quality of retrofit installations.

TrustMark is the only UK Government-Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in and around the home. It is a not-for-profit organisation, operating under a Master Licence Agreement, issued by the Government’s Department for Business & Trade. As a TrustMark Scheme Provider, the BBA works with TrustMark to ensure that their Registered Businesses commit to and maintain the required standards of technical competence, trading practices and customer service.

These practices help to provide assurance and confidence for homeowners when they engage a TrustMark Registered Business and for trades, it helps to demonstrate their quality and professionalism.

For installers working in the Retrofit sector, becoming a TrustMark Registered business demonstrates your commitment to doing a great job with high levels of quality and customer service. It will give you access to the investment being made in the 24 million homes that will need retrofitting over the coming years. The BBA can support you on your journey to installer certification, such as PAS 2030, which will then allow you to join the TrustMark scheme. Find out more about the TrustMark Registered Business scheme here.

If you’re a manufacturer in the energy efficiency space, you’ve invested in creating the best products you can. Knowing that they are being installed by competent tradespeople means that your products will be installed as intended and reduces the risk to your brand’s reputation. The BBA offers various solutions for certifying your installation partners, such as its Approved Installer Scheme, or a Client Managed Inspection Scheme, where the BBA can carry out inspections on your behalf.
