THE BRITISH BOARD OF AGRÉMENT (BBA) HAS BEEN CERTIFIED AS MEETING THE CYBER ESSENTIALS PLUS STANDARD, AN INITIATIVE ESTABLISHED BY THE UK’S NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY CENTRE (NCSC).

The BBA is delighted to announce the award of the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, following an in-depth external audit of its information security measures.

As an organisation with a team that works both remotely and office-bound, ensuring that the company is protected and secure to deal with complex cyber threats is something that the BBA takes very seriously.

The Cyber Essentials program, established by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and supported by the UK government, is an invaluable benchmark for all organisations seeking security in a fast developing threat landscape.

Cyber Essentials Plus certification requires an external technical audit to verify the effectiveness of an organisation’s information security controls. In reaching this standard, Martin Norfolk, the BBA’s Chief Information Officer, commented,

The BBA is an organisation founded to provide public technical assurance for products used across the construction industry, and similarly our internal governance requires that we safeguard our own operational technology. Data security and resilience are primary goals in our exploitation of Information Technology and this is no minor challenge in today’s environment.

Our currency is our expertise and reputation, so as our staff travel the world assessing, observing, testing and gathering data, it is essential they can operate reliably and confidentially. We need it and our clients expect it.

“We are pleased to share with all our stakeholders that we have met the NCSC’s standard for Cyber Essentials Plus. This is one of many steps of continual improvement of our internal systems and processes.”
