In the latest of our series on webinars about the Building Safety Act, we were joined by Jon Vanstone, Chair of the Industry Competence Committee and Richard Harral, Technical Director at CABE to examine how the industry is adopting the changes enforced by the Building Safety Act.
The discussion highlighted how positive the Act is for the industry, and not only around safety, but by providing a framework for a much better industry in general, including quality and skills. It also reiterated that the Building Safety Act applies to ALL buildings. Whilst there are particular additional elements which apply to High-Risk Buildings, the duty-holding requirements built into the Act apply to all.
Watch back the first two parts of this series:
Topics covered in the discussion:
- Changes to the Building Control Register
- The Building Inspector Competence Framework
- Monitoring, assurance and enforcement
- The impact on small and medium organisations of the changes and how prepared they have been for them
