Companies who are based in Northern Ireland are in a unique position. Products may be placed on the market with CE marking only, if an EU based Notified Body was used. Alternatively, the use of a UK Approved Body could allow the use of the CE / UKNI combined Mark.
Building Regulations and guidance have been amended across the UK several times during 2022, mainly covering fire safety, energy economy and ventilation.
BBA Certificates are to be updated to allow for these new requirements, but users should be aware that this will take some time and that, in the meantime, the Regulations quoted and the associated comments may not be valid. This does not affect the performance characteristics quoted in Certificates and potential users should ensure that these parameters enable a product to satisfy the requirements of the current Regulations.
