Where harmonised standards in the EU apply for mandatory product CE Marking, the relevant UK Designated Standards will apply in Great Britain for UKCA Marking. Where no Designated Standards exist, voluntary UKCA Marking can be applied via a UKTA provided it complies with the UKAD which are currently based on EADs. See UKTA tab for further details.
Building Regulations and guidance have been amended across the UK several times during 2022, mainly covering fire safety, energy economy and ventilation.
BBA Certificates are to be updated to allow for these new requirements, but users should be aware that this will take some time and that, in the meantime, the Regulations quoted and the associated comments may not be valid. This does not affect the performance characteristics quoted in Certificates and potential users should ensure that these parameters enable a product to satisfy the requirements of the current Regulations.
