New Chief Executive for BRUFMA
The British Rigid Urethane Foam Manufacturers’ Association (BRUFMA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Storer as its new Chief Executive, effective 9 January 2017.
With a career in the construction industry, public affairs and communications that spans more than 30 years, Simon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will provide enormous benefit to the association. Tasked with developing and implementing an effective strategy for the coming years and leading BRUFMA to expand its access and influence, Simon’s expertise will ensure the voice of the PIR insulation sector is fully understood, enabling all members to flourish and benefit from the work of the association.
Announcing the appointment, President of BRUFMA Kevin Bohea said:
“We are very pleased to have Simon joining us as the new CEO of BRUFMA. His previous experience of working in the construction industry, whilst at the CPA, will prove invaluable to our organisation.”
Previously Head of Communications at BACTA, Simon was Communications and External Affairs Director at the Construction Products Association (CPA) for seven years, he also worked for the architect Levitt Bernstein, Shoreditch New Deal for Communities project, as well as 10 years for the Channel Tunnel project during its construction phase. Commenting on his appointment, Simon Storer said:
“I am delighted to be taking on the position as Chief Executive for BRUFMA during what is likely to be a hugely interesting and challenging time, both for the UK as a whole and specifically for the construction manufacturing sector. Although there are many uncertainties that the UK is facing, there is no doubt that energy efficiency of the built environment will remain a national objective and key to the UK hitting its climate change targets. PIR insulation is essential to this and BRUFMA members will continue to play a leading role in ensuring buildings perform to the highest standard.”
“With BRUFMAs membership responsible for providing almost half of all insulation provided to the UK market, Simon’s understanding of the importance of the PIR insulation industry will help us to correctly position BRUFMA as the leading relevant insulation trade association in the UK.” Added Kevin Bohea: “We wish him every success in his CEO role with us.”
BRUFMA membership comprises all of the major companies in the Rigid Polyurethane (PUR) and Polyisocyanurate (PIR) Foam Industry in the UK, including manufacturers of finished polyurethane (PUR) and Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam products, suppliers of the various raw materials and associated services.
